The Grand Rapids and Indiana Railway Company was incorporated under the laws of Indiana and Michigan on July 11, 1896, as a reorganization of the Grand Rapids and Indiana Railroad Company. The company operated a railroad between Fort Wayne, Ind., and Mackinaw City, Mich., that was built by predecessor companies between 1867 and 1886.
